Main differents

Image
In my opinion the main differences between Canada and Germany are the school system, the food and sports. How I have already said the school in Canada is a lot easier and calmer then in Germany. And in Germany school is just for learning there are no school clubs or stuff like that. The second big difference I recognized is that in Canada there is so much more fast and unhealthy food than in Germany. And the healthy food is just so expensive so you can only afford the unhealthy food. The last big difference is the sport culture. In Canada Football, Ice Hockey, Basketball and Ice Hockey are the most popular and biggest sports. In Germany Soccer is by far the biggest sport. Tennis, Basketball and Ice Hockey are pretty popular too but Football and baseball barely exist in Germany.

Sport

In Germany i play a lots of tennis therefore i want to keep that the best as possible here in Canada. I often go play with some friends in the afternoon or I sometimes when my tennis trainer has time play with him. The good thing is I can play with the Trainer for free because he says it is good train for himself playing with me.   Additionally I signed up for a gym. I try to go to the gym everyday. On the week I visit it everyday before school and after school I often go with my friends too. On the weekends I just go to it when i have time left. In general I am a really sport active guy so i am really happy doing so much sport here.

School

I visit the Seaquam Secondary school in delta. I really like it her because class is not that hard and exhausting like in Germany. The electors woodwork, metalwork, culinary arts and media arts are really fun. In Germany we just have academics. Furthermore the most teachers here are just so much more chill and not that picky and strict. In the breaks first I was the whole time with other German exchange students but now everything is mixed up. Overall can say that my first expression is that school here is a lot of easier and not that hard like in Germany.

Friends

In Canada there was no time where I had no friends at the first day the orientation day I already met lots of other exchange students from Germany and Spain. And at other trips with the organization i did more and more friends. At school first I found it difficult to get to know Canadians and not being always with my friends from Germany. But it just took some time now I have as many Canadian as German friends. At the weekends I meet the whole time with my new friends and it is always really funny. I am looking forward making even more friends and getting to know more people.

My Host family

In my Host family I have a Mother her name is amber, a father his name is Isaac and 3 Host brothers their names are Nathan (12), Andrew (14) and Zach (19). At home I talk the most time wit my host dad we share many interests like playing sports and cooking. The three brothers are more introverted types of people and they do not talk a lot and are the most of the time in their rooms playing Video games. The whole family is very Christian. The father is pastor, the mother is teacher at a private Christian school which the two younger brothers also attend and the bigger brother spent last year in Florida for studying the bible. I am not very Christian but for me that is not really a problem. I really like them
